We began class today with oral drill work, a quiz, and then recitation and review. In the back of the workbooks are both vocabulary and grammar review sheets - the students can work on quizzing themselves as part of their studying each day. Repetition - especially in the form of chanting out loud - will really help to cement the vocabulary and forms to memory.
Our grammar lesson today was how to form the future tense for first conjugation verbs.
Homework:
•1. Make flash cards for each of your Latin words. On one side write the Latin, on the other the English meaning + derivative found the book + one more found in a dictionary.
•2. Re-read the text book lesson – pages 14 – 15
•3. Practice your vocabulary by recitation (practice words from both Lesson 1, 2, and 3!)
•4. Do the workbook pages for Lesson 3 (pages 20-24) (NOTE BENE: you may skip questions 5 - 8 on page 20)
5. Upcoming projects - Oct 10 - Joy - Art in Ancient Rome; Nov 7 - Chloe - Roman gladiators and the Colosseum
